Over 150 local GPs, GP registrars, practice nurses and allied health professionals gathered in Leura on Saturday 7 September, together with clinicians from the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District, for the highly anticipated 2024 Nepean Blue Mountains Clinical Paediatric Conference.
The Nepean Blue Mountains Clinical Paediatric Conference is a key event for paediatric education and collaboration, helping to elevate the standard of care for children across the region. This year’s Conference focused on innovative approaches to addressing common childhood health issues, including colic, constipation and cow’s milk allergies in babies, syncope in children, developmental dysplasia of the hips in infants, management of eczema, bowel and bladder continence issues and recognising child abuse and neglect.
As a PHN, we are dedicated to fostering a ‘one health system’ approach in our region and have been collaborating with the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District for many years to integrate our local health system. Some examples of this work include our combined Community Advisory Committee, our Joint Boards’ Integrated Health and Wellbeing Committee, our Joint Regional Mental Health and Suicide Prevention strategic plan, and our numerous combined events for health professionals, like this annual Paediatric Conference that has been going for over 10 years.
We would like to thank all those who helped organise the event, as well as the participants, who continue to contribute to the event’s success.
