We are excited to announce the launch of our Supporting Access to Vaccination for Vulnerable Groups Grants program. These grants are open to general practices, as well as allied health and pharmacy, to fund activities which improve COVID-19 vaccination rates for vulnerable and non-Medicare eligible patients.
These grants will support health professionals in our region respond to the unplanned, additional costs incurred throughout the pandemic. These grants are also part of the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting access to vaccination for vulnerable populations, and can be used to run activities which support immunisation programs for these groups.
There are varying grant levels for each provider group, which can be used on a number of eligible purchases and initiatives including, but not limted to:
- Improving COVID-19 vaccination health literacy by having conversations with vaccine hesitant populations about the benefits of vaccination and, where possible, assisting them to access vaccine services.
- Delivering COVID-19 vaccination pop-up clinics to vulnerable population groups such as homeless and culturally and linguistically diverse groups.
- Protected time to identify vulnerable population groups that are under-vaccinated in clinical software and contacting them to discuss vaccination or connecting them to a COVID-19 vaccine provider.
- The purchase of equipment to support COVID-19 vaccination activities.
- Enhancing continuity of care during emergencies and natural disasters (e.g. continuing to service patients who are housebound).
A full list of eligible activities are available on the separate grants pages for general practice, and allied health and pharmacy Applications close at 5:00pm on Monday 13 June 2022.
I encourage health professionals in our region to visit the Grants page on our website to apply for this grant opportunity and to find other grants we currently have available.
