Over 60 current staff, previous staff and external stakeholders came together, with speeches from myself, our Board Chair - Mr Gary Smith AM, and former CEO – Nepean Division of General Practice, Michael Edwards, to acknowledge Elisa’s outstanding contribution to our organisation and the broader primary care sector.  

With a background in nursing and occupational health, Elisa brought a wealth of clinical and operational expertise when she joined us over two decades ago, starting with the Nepean Division of General Practice. 

Throughout her career, Elisa has played a pivotal role in shaping key initiatives across the region. From primary care collaboratives, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander programs, dementia support, National Prescribing Service, to aged care and mental health. 

Her leadership has been instrumental in forging strong stakeholder relationships and developing foundational frameworks, including the organisation’s first needs assessment, Clinical Governance Framework, and the data governance structure. She also led the implementation of the Initial Intake Referral and Assessment phoneline during COVID-19 and championed the Health Literacy Framework. 

Elisa is widely respected for her knowledge, her collaborative and inclusive approach, and her unwavering commitment to quality and integration. Her ability to connect and develop relationships with stakeholders, drive meaningful change, and maintain a strong focus on patient-centred care has left a lasting impact on our organisation and the community. 

Her legacy is one of compassion, excellence and dedication. We thank her for all that she has contributed and wish her the very best.
