Wentworth Healthcare encourages locals to have their say in Survey

Wentworth Healthcare, the provider of the Nepean Blue Mountains Primary Health Network, is asking the community for their feedback and insights into their individual health experiences across the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury, Lithgow and Penrith local government areas.

The Community Health and Wellbeing Survey will inform Wentworth Healthcare’s 2024 Health Needs Assessment, which will identify areas for improvement, influence health priorities and help ensure that local healthcare services are aligned with the region’s health needs.

Wentworth Healthcare is one of 31 Primary Health Networks (PHNs) nationally that receive grants from the Federal Government to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of primary healthcare services in their local regions. PHNs do this by supporting local GPs and other primary healthcare providers to deliver high quality care, establishing and funding non-hospital healthcare services in the community, and improving the local healthcare journey for patients as they move from one health system to another.

Wentworth Healthcare CEO, Lizz Reay, emphasised the importance of gathering feedback from the community, and said that the Survey would focus on key areas such as access to health services, mental health support and the management of long-term health conditions.

“As a PHN, we have an important role in helping improve the health of our region by making it easier for patients to access the health services they need, when they need it,” she said.

“This Survey is vital, as it will provide us with a wealth of information about local residents’ first-hand health experiences, including where service gaps exist,” she added.
