Bushfire Community Wellbeing Grants
Community Wellbeing Grants
The Community Wellbeing Grants were funded through the Federal Government’s response to the bushfire crisis to support the mental health, wellbeing, resilience and recovery of those affected by the 2019/20 'Black Summer' Bushfires.
Our Community Wellbeing Grants allow communities the opportunity to choose their own way to respond to the losses, anxiety and distress they have experienced, as well as actively participate in their recovery.
There were two categories for the Community Wellbeing Grants offered - Grants of up to $1,000 and Grants of up to $10,000.
We had an overwhelming response to both and were pleased with the diversity and creative approaches among the grant applications. Almost 80 projects across the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury, Lithgow and Penrith areas will be delivered throughout 2021 and 2022. These will include art therapy groups, live performances, community gardens, social events, wellbeing workshops, school holiday programs and more. The grants are now closed and no new applications are being accepted.
