General Practitioner for Healthy Ageing Advisory Committee

We are seeking a GP working in the Blue Mountians or Lithgow local government areas to join our Healthy Ageing Advisory Committee (HAAC).

Background

Our HAAC was established in 2022, previously known as the Older Person’s Consortium (established 2019). This committee has representation from primary care including allied health, the Local Health District, residential aged care homes, NSW Ambulance and a community representative. Our collaborative meetings provide an opportunity for information sharing, consultation and open discussion. Our HAAC plays a crucial role in advising us of emerging issues from a health professional and community perspective with our collaborative meetings. Ideally our GP representative has a passion for supporting older people living in the community and residential aged care homes, and has an understanding of the aged care sector.

What's involved

The HAAC meets online on a quarterly basis and offers an opportunity to:

  • Receive insight into the latest healthy ageing initiatives
  • Be informed about new healthy ageing programs
  • Build valuable connections with colleagues across the region
  • Play a key role in improving older people’s health in the community
